Terms and Conditions of Warranty

Upon purchase, the terms and conditions of the warranty are legally binding. Adam Car Parts does not cover labour charges for any reason. Abuse, commercial use, or industrial use will void any and all warranties. To register the warranty, customers must email [email protected] within 10 days of delivery.

Warranty Registration

The warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the part. To ensure your warranty is valid, register by sending an email to [email protected] within 10 days of receiving the product. If a warranty claim is applicable, you must return the part to the location it was shipped from. Contact Adam Car Parts immediately prior to repairing or removing any components. We require the original installation and repair receipts before considering any warranty claims. Adam Car Parts is committed to customer satisfaction, which is why we back our engines with a 3-year warranty or 30,000 miles.

Replacements/Returns

  • Warranty Replacements: If a part qualifies for a free replacement, it must be made available for pickup within 7 working days of notification. Failure to do so will nullify the warranty, and the customer will be deemed to have chosen to keep the part.
  • Wrong Part: If the wrong part is received, it must be reported within 72 hours of delivery for a return or exchange. After 72 hours, we are limited in what the vendor can do.
  • Returned Parts (Not Installed): If the customer wants to return or cancel a part before shipping, installation, or receipt, they are responsible for all shipping costs and a 35% restocking fee. If the part is shipped, it must be available for pickup within 7 working days, or no refund will be issued.
  • If we send a replacement motor or transmission before the unwanted part is returned, the customer must ship the part back within 30 days of purchase or they will be charged for the replacement part.

Additional Limitations & Owner/User Obligations

  • Engine oil and filter must be changed within the first 1,000 miles of installation, with subsequent oil and filter changes following the manufacturer’s recommended schedule.
  • Official service centre records must be kept for all maintenance work; handwritten records are not acceptable.
  • The oil and temperature lights, gauges, and speedometer must be in working order.
  • New thermostat, seals, gaskets, and timing belt (if applicable) must be installed. Failure to perform these operations will void the warranty.

Limited Liability

The liability of Adam Car Parts is limited to supplying a replacement engine (if available) or refunding the purchase price. We do not assume responsibility for labour costs, oil or anti-freeze replacement, damage to other components, towing charges, freight, lost profits, lost time, substitute transportation, or any other consequential damages. We are not responsible for failures resulting from improper installation, modifications, faulty parts, or abnormal use. Adam Car Parts sells used engines and transmissions, not used vehicles. Mileage estimates for used parts are based on available information but cannot be verified.

Engine Coverage

  • Gas engine coverage expires 36 months from purchase date or 30,000 miles from the odometer at the time of installation, whichever comes first.
  • Diesel and truck engine coverage expires 36 months from purchase date or 36,000 miles from the odometer at the time of installation, whichever comes first.

Covered Components

  • For both gasoline and diesel engines: pistons, crankshaft bearings, connecting rods, camshaft bearings, valves, valve springs, oil pumps, push rods, rocker arms, hydraulic lifters, and rocker arm shafts are covered.
  • The engine block and cylinder heads are covered only if damaged by a covered component.
  • Seals and gaskets are only covered if part of a repair or replacement of covered components.

General Terms & Conditions for Replacements (Engines and Transmissions)

  • Engines must be installed by an ASE Certified Automotive facility, and the warranty must be activated within 10 business days of delivery. Failure to do so will void the warranty.
  • To activate the warranty, email [email protected].
  • A new thermostat and timing belt (if applicable) must be installed during engine installation.
  • Customers must provide dated printed receipts prior to reporting any claims. DIY installations are not covered under any circumstances.

In case of a total breakdown of the part or engine, the administrator's obligation is limited to repairing or replacing the covered components. If replacement is required, Adam Car Parts reserves the right to provide a like-for-like replacement or pay the contract holder the wholesale value of the replacement engine.

Transferability

This warranty is non-transferable to another purchaser or engine.

ADMINISTRATOR'S RIGHTS TO TERMINATE BENEFITS

In the event of a claim, Adam Car Parts reserves the right to terminate the benefits of this product warranty upon discovering fraud or misrepresentation of any material fact by the purchaser or their representative. Evidence of fraud or misrepresentation will be forwarded to the appropriate state and federal authorities. Any vehicle involved in the commission of a crime will have all benefits terminated. Any litigation must be filed in Hillsborough County, Florida.

Warranty Coverage

The engine warranty covers the block, heads, and all internal components. Bolt-on accessories, wiring harnesses, and sensors are not covered. In the event of a warranty claim, an Engine Diagnostic Report from an ASE Certified Automotive Facility is required. Engine warranties cover manufacturing defects in the block, heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, rockers, and oil pumps. We do not cover attached accessory parts such as switches, sensors, cables, electronics, belts, hoses, water pumps, manifolds, wire harnesses, valve covers, brackets, flywheels, etc. For diesel engines, we do not cover injectors, high-pressure oil pumps, high-pressure fuel injectors, or any part not considered part of the core engine. We are not responsible for improper installation or labour charges.

Return & Cancellation Policy

All returned parts or cancelled orders are subject to a 35% handling and processing fee based on the total invoice amount, plus the customer is responsible for all shipping costs, both ways. Shipping costs are non-refundable. This policy also applies to 25% deposit holds, should a motor or transmission be put on hold and later cancelled or changed. For motors over $5,000, a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 applies. Holds are limited to 10 days, with no exceptions.
Mis-ordered or mis-diagnosed parts will incur a 35% processing charge and freight costs both ways. We do not cover towing, shipping, transportation, or car rental costs. Delivery times are typically 7-14 working days, but please allow additional time for unusual circumstances. Residential deliveries incur a $150 shipping charge unless agreed otherwise.

Warranty Activation & Requirements

Extended warranties are activated upon notification of installation of the part. The engine or transmission must be installed, and the warranty activated within 10 business days. A photograph of the odometer must be sent to [email protected] within 10 days of delivery, or the warranty will be voided. Falsifying information will automatically void your warranty.
Exchanges or store credits are only available after the part has been in the customer’s possession for more than 30 days.
Adam Car Partsmakes every effort to ensure parts are in good condition, but no warranty is made regarding their appearance. Inspect all parts before signing for delivery.

Engine & Transmission Warranty Exclusions

  • Damage caused by improper installation.
  • Use of the engine or transmission for racing.
  • Lack of lubrication or cooling.
  • Oil leaks or damage due to non-replaced seals, gaskets, or filters.
  • Components not listed as covered.
  • Any vehicle used for commercial purposes.
  • Damage resulting from excessive wear, misuse, or road conditions.
  • Claims made after the product has been used outside of the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Damage caused by overheating, improper fluid, or contamination.

Warranty Void Conditions

  • The warranty will be void if the engine or transmission is used for racing or operated without proper fluids or lubrication.
  • The warranty will be void if the heat tab is missing or melted.
  • Claims may be denied if the part is not returned in the same assembled condition as it was received. Disassembly without prior written authorization will void the warranty.

Transmission Warranty

Coverage is limited to 36 months or 30,000 miles from the date of purchase or from the odometer reading at the time of transmission installation, whichever comes first. Adam Car Partsrequires the transmission cooler, front and rear gaskets, and seals to be replaced during installation, or the warranty will be void. Components such as torque converters, oil pumps, governors, drums, planetaries, sun gears & shells, sprags, shafts, bearings, shift rails, forks, synchronizers, external switches, and sensors are not covered. If a breakdown occurs due to a failure of one of these components, the warranty will not apply to the transmission.

Maintenance Requirements

  • Purchasers may not perform their own maintenance for warranty requirements. All maintenance must be done by a commercial facility.
  • Maintenance records must be kept, including documentation from the service facility with details such as mileage, date, vehicle identification number, and service performed.

Defective Engine or Transmission Claim Procedure

In the event of a defect in a head/block or any other covered components, you must email the following documentation to [email protected]:

  • A copy of the receipt for the installation of new thermostat, seals, gaskets, and rear main seal.
  • A detailed written description and photos of the defective part from a certified mechanic.
  • A copy of the mechanic’s certification, along with their contact information.

Once the necessary documents are reviewed, a decision will be made on whether a replacement or refund will be issued. Shipping charges and labour costs are not covered under warranty.

SALES & SHIPPING POLICY

  • No refunds or exchanges are allowed on non-defective engines.
  • All refused or returned orders will be charged a 35% restocking fee based on the total invoiced amount, plus all original and return freight charges back to the warehouse. No exceptions.
  • Adam Car Parts is not responsible for damages occurring during shipment of any engine, transmission, or parts.
  • Adam Car Parts is not responsible for any expenses related to the application of our products, including but not limited to shipping, labour, gaskets, fluids, etc.
  • If the shipping address is not as described (e.g., requiring a liftgate, being a residential address, or any other extra charges billed to us by the shipping company), the customer assumes the cost and will be charged up to $150.

At any time, Adam Car Parts reserves the right to refund the cost of the original purchase order.

How can I claim my warranty?

To be eligible for a warranty claim, the claim must be made within the warranty period. The customer must return the part to us within the specified duration. Once the faulty item is shipped back to us, our engineers will assess the condition of the component. If the item is found to be irreparable, we will consider replacing it entirely. As long as the claim is filed and the item is returned within the warranty period, we will proceed with repairing or replacing the component.

All items purchased from Adam Car Parts come with free as well as extendable warranties.
